Elementary OS Linux - Better than an Ubuntu OSX theme
It might be just what I was looking for - a cleaner Linux but still being modern and up to date.

Customising GIMP to look like Photoshop
I've played with GIMP before but only this week I have really taken the time to use it instead of Photoshop.
I'm really enjoying the fact you can customise the interface, it has made using Gimp easier.
Blogpost of what I've done so far
It's also given me a new view on those tutorials where you make Ubuntu look like OSX. In the past I never saw the point but if you like OSX and find Open Source cool. Changing the interface makes you feel at home. Having things where you would expect to find them is a time saver.

GIMP vs Photoshop, Van vs Lorry
The debate - is Gimp as good as Photoshop. The way I look at it Gimp is a van where Photoshop is a lorry.
In most cases a van will do the job if you're moving house or making a delivery for your business it does the job. No better or worst than a lorry. But in a situation where you need a lorry for example a 20 pallet delivery of stock to a large supermarket a van is simply not suitable.
A van could do it but it wasn't design to make those kind of deliveries.
Gimp can do much of what Photoshop can do but not everything much like a van and a lorry.
For the foreseeable future I just need a van especially when that van is free to use.

GIMP unable to move layer
Go to move tool option and click on the photo icon
Click on 'Move the active layer' radio button
This happened to me when I copy and pasted a image project.

GIMP LIKE PHOTOSHOP Part 2
To get the feel of Photoshop assign keys shortcuts
Reassigned keys
The first one I found really useful was changing 'Paste as new layer'
Paste as new layer -

GIMP LOOK LIKE PHOTOSHOP Part 1
This is GIMP that I customised to look like Photoshop.
GIMP for OSX Download
First thing you want to do is go to the 'Window' menu and click 'Single-Window Mode'.
Here's the theme that I used Download
I merged the 'Pro' theme and the 'Small' theme.
The 'Pro' theme gave it the dark look. The 'Small' theme to make the icons smaller.
Installing the Theme
To install the theme on OSX unzip and copy the folder to:
Right click the GIMP.app > 'Show Package Contents'
Contents > Resources > Share > gimp > 2.0 > themes
Edit the Toolbox
Edit the toolbox to show and hide Tools in preferences.
